- Result expected 7 September 2026 Estimated from the 30-day rule, not official
- Application window 11 – 17 August 2026 Closed — Tk 150 per paper, online only
- Boards covered All 11 boards 9 general + Madrasah + Technical
- SSC 2026 fail rate 41.75% 6,90,608 students did not pass
Every year a group of students open their SSC result and find a number that does not match the exam they remember sitting. A paper that felt like an A grade comes back as a C. A subject they were confident about shows a fail. For those students, Bangladesh’s education boards run a formal review process — officially ফল পুনঃনিরীক্ষণ (result rescrutiny), known to almost everyone as board challenge or খাতা চ্যালেঞ্জ.
In 2026 that process carries unusual weight. The SSC pass rate fell to 62.25 percent, the lowest in close to two decades, and more than six lakh ninety thousand students did not clear every subject. The result was a record volume of rescrutiny applications. This page tracks the outcome: when the SSC board challenge result 2026 will be published, how to check it by roll number or PDF, and what each possible outcome means for your marksheet and your college admission.
What is the SSC board challenge?
A board challenge is a request asking your education board to examine your answer script a second time. It is the only official route available to a student who believes their marks were recorded incorrectly.
What the board actually checks
- Whether every question that was answered received a mark
- Whether the marks on each page were added up correctly
- Whether the total on the script matches the total entered into the board’s system
- Whether the OMR sheet was read correctly for the MCQ section
- Whether any page of the script was skipped by the examiner
What the board does not do
It does not re-evaluate the quality of your writing. A second examiner will not read your essay and decide it deserved more credit. This is a verification of arithmetic and data entry, not a fresh assessment. That distinction explains why the large majority of applications end with no change to the result.
If an error is found in your favour, your marks are corrected upward and a new result is issued. If nothing is found, your original result stands exactly as it was. There is no downside risk to the grade itself — only the non-refundable fee.

Two changes worth noting for 2026
First, the entire process moved online this year. The Teletalk SMS method used in previous years — the RSC message to 16222 — was retired, and applications were accepted only through the board portal at rescrutiny.eduboardresults.gov.bd. Second, the window was a strict seven days with no extension announced, which is why the volume of last-minute applications was so heavy.
There is no late-application provision. If you missed it, your remaining options are set out under what happens after rescrutiny.
How many applications were submitted?
The response was the largest in the recent history of the process.
- 12,00,000+Papers submitted for rescrutiny, per the Education Minister on 17 August 2026
- 3,00,000+Students who applied within the first five days
- Tk 18 cr+Approximate fee collected at Tk 150 per paper
- 7 daysLength of the application window, with no extension
Speaking at a forum in Dhaka on 17 August, Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon put the figure at more than twelve lakh applications for re-examination of SSC 2026 answer scripts. Board data released mid-window had already shown more than three lakh students applying in the first five days alone — a pace that made this the busiest rescrutiny cycle in years.
The volume has had a policy consequence. The government has said it will draft a formal guideline governing how answer scripts are re-examined, specifying which categories of script qualify for review and how the process is to be carried out. For students, the practical implication is straightforward: with twelve lakh papers to process across eleven boards, the boards are working against a fixed statutory deadline — which is the basis for the date estimate below.
How many students failed SSC 2026?
690,608 students did not pass — 41.75 percent of everyone who sat the exam. It is the highest failure count the SSC has recorded in years, and the single biggest reason the rescrutiny queue reached twelve lakh papers.
- 18,29,485Candidates who sat the exam
- 11,38,877Passed
- 6,90,608Did not pass — 41.75% of all candidates
- 1,16,676Achieved GPA-5, down 22,356 from 2025
Of the 1,829,485 candidates who appeared across all eleven boards, 1,138,877 passed. A further 27,859 registered candidates did not sit the exam at all, out of 1,857,344 registered.
SSC board challenge result date 2026
Estimated publication: Monday, 7 September 2026, with the first ten days of September as the realistic window.
No official date has been announced yet. The estimate above is not a guess — it follows two rules the boards work to.
Rule one — the 30-day requirement
Under inter-board procedure, the rescrutiny result must be published within thirty days of the date the main result was released. The SSC 2026 result came out on 10 August, which sets the outer limit at 9 September 2026.
Rule two — the three-week pattern
In practice, boards publish roughly three weeks after applications close. Applications closed on 17 August. Three weeks later is Monday, 7 September 2026. Both rules point to the same short window, which is why the first week of September is the sensible expectation.
Twelve lakh papers is far above a normal year’s load. If the boards need extra days to clear that volume, publication could slip toward the 9 September limit or, in an exceptional case, a few days past it. Treat any date circulating on social media as unconfirmed until a board notice appears.
How the result reaches you
Each board publishes a PDF notice listing the roll numbers whose results changed. Applicants who provided a mobile number during the online application also receive an SMS notification. There is no ceremony or press conference for rescrutiny results — the PDFs simply appear on the board websites, usually in the afternoon.
Update log
- Application window closed at 11:59 PM on 17 August. No official rescrutiny result date announced yet. Estimate stands at 7–9 September.
- Education Minister confirms more than twelve lakh rescrutiny applications, and says the government will draft a policy on answer-script re-examination.
- Online application opens at rescrutiny.eduboardresults.gov.bd. Teletalk SMS method discontinued for all boards.
How to check the SSC board challenge result 2026
Three things will tell you your outcome. The first one comes to you; the other two you do yourself.
Method 1 — SMS notification (automatic)
The board sends an SMS directly to the mobile number you entered during your re-scrutiny application. You don’t need to request this — it arrives on its own once your result is finalized. Because of this, it’s essential that the number you used during application stays active and reachable.
Method 2 — Download your board’s PDF
This is the official record. Each board publishes a PDF listing every roll number whose result was revised after rescrutiny, with the subject and the corrected grade.
- Find your education board in the board table below.
- Click Download PDF.
- Open the file and search for your six-digit roll number — Ctrl+F on desktop, the magnifier icon on mobile.
- If your roll appears, your result changed. If it does not appear, your original result stands.
Every board PDF is mirrored here as soon as it is released, so you are not dependent on board servers, which are frequently overloaded in the first hours.
Method 3 — Search online by roll number
Reading a PDF with fifty thousand rows on a phone is miserable. Our roll search does it for you: every roll number is extracted from the official PDFs and indexed, so you type your roll once and get a clean answer. It covers all eleven boards and updates within minutes of each board releasing its file.
Check your result by roll number
Select your board and enter your six-digit roll number. Data is read directly from the official board PDFs.
Your six-digit roll number is printed on your SSC admit card and on your registration card, next to your name. It is also on the result slip your school issued. If you cannot find either, your school office can look it up from the institution result sheet using your name and class roll.
Only roll numbers whose grades were revised appear in a board PDF. A match means your marks changed. No match means the board verified your script and found nothing to correct, so your original result stands. Either way, the marksheet on eboardresults.com is the authoritative copy.

How to apply for SSC board challenge
The 2026 application ran from 11 to 17 August and was online only. The Teletalk SMS route used in earlier years was discontinued. Here is the process as it was carried out, which is also the process expected for future cycles.
- Open the portal
Go to
rescrutiny.eduboardresults.gov.bdin a browser. - Select your exam and board
Choose your examination (SSC / Dakhil / Vocational), year 2026, and your education board.
- Enter roll and registration
Both exactly as printed on your admit card. One wrong digit fails the lookup.
- Give an active mobile number
The rescrutiny outcome is sent to this number by SMS, so use a number you will keep access to.
- Select the papers to re-examine
Your subject-wise result appears on screen. Select each paper you want reviewed. For two-paper subjects such as Bangla and English you must apply for both papers — they cannot be challenged separately.
- Pay and submit
Tk 150 per paper through bKash, Nagad, or Sonali Seba, then return to the portal and submit. You get a confirmation on screen and by SMS.
Points that caused the most trouble this year
- The fee is non-refundable, whether or not your grade changes.
- Additional subjects can be added after submitting, following the same steps. The mobile number does not need to be re-entered.
- A four-paper challenge costs Tk 600; a full-subject challenge can easily exceed Tk 1,500. Choose the papers where you genuinely suspect an error rather than applying across the board.
- Keep the confirmation SMS and the payment transaction ID until the result is published.
How to download your SSC result 2026 marksheet
Whether or not your grade changed, this is how to get the full subject-wise marksheet.
Using eboardresults.com
- Open eboardresults.com
This is the portal that shows subject-wise numbers, not just the GPA.
- Set exam and year
Examination: SSC/Dakhil/Equivalent. Year: 2026.
- Select board and result type
Choose your board, then set Result Type to Individual Result.
- Enter roll and registration number
Both are on your admit card.
- Complete the captcha and search
The captcha appears once every field is filled. Then click Get Result.
- Save as PDF
Your marksheet loads with subject-wise grades and GPA. Use your browser’s print dialogue and choose Save as PDF.
For a faster GPA-only check, educationboardresults.gov.bd is lighter but does not show subject-wise numbers.
What happens after rescrutiny
Three outcomes are possible, and it helps to know what each one means in practice.
-
Outcome 1
No change
By a wide margin the most common result. No arithmetic or data-entry error was found and your original grade stands. Your roll number will not appear in the board PDF, and nothing further is required of you.
-
Outcome 2
Grade improved
An error was found and corrected. Your subject grade rises and usually your GPA with it. The board issues a corrected result and the online marksheet updates. If you are already enrolled under XI class admission, send the corrected marksheet to your college immediately — the new GPA may qualify you for a different college or group.
-
Outcome 3
Fail changed to pass
The most consequential outcome. Your overall result changes from Fail to Pass. Boards coordinate with the XI class admission authority for students in this position, but it is time-sensitive: contact your board and your intended college the same week the result is published rather than waiting for a general announcement.
If you missed the application window
There is no late provision. Your options are limited to sitting the next SSC examination as an improvement candidate in the failed subjects, which most students take under the following year’s schedule. Speak to your school’s exam controller before deciding, since registration deadlines for improvement candidates fall well before the exam itself.
Mistakes to avoid
- Assuming a challenge means a re-read. It does not. The board verifies totals and data entry; it does not reassess your writing.
- Applying for every subject. At Tk 150 a paper this adds up fast, and a broad challenge does not improve your odds on any individual paper.
- Challenging only one paper of a two-paper subject. Bangla and English must be submitted for both papers or the application will not process correctly.
- Using a mobile number you will lose access to. The notification goes to that number and nowhere else.
- Entering the registration number from memory. Take it from the admit card — a single wrong digit fails the lookup.
- Trusting an unofficial date. Every result cycle produces fake dates on Facebook. Wait for a board notice or a confirmed update here.
- Deleting the payment confirmation. If the application does not register, the transaction ID is the only thing that lets the board trace it.

Frequently asked questions
When will the SSC board challenge result 2026 be published?
No official date has been announced. Applications closed on 17 August 2026, and boards typically publish about three weeks later — pointing to around 7 September 2026. Inter-board procedure also requires publication within thirty days of the main result, which sets an outer limit of 9 September 2026.
Can my GPA go down after a board challenge?
No. Rescrutiny can only correct an error in your favour. If no error is found, your original result stands unchanged.
How much did the SSC 2026 board challenge cost?
Tk 150 per paper, payable online through bKash, Nagad, or Sonali Seba. The fee is non-refundable.
Can I still apply for the 2026 board challenge?
No. The window closed at 11:59 PM on 17 August 2026 and no extension was announced. There is no late-application provision.
Is the Teletalk SMS method still available for applying?
No. Applications for SSC 2026 were accepted only through the online portal at rescrutiny.eduboardresults.gov.bd. The RSC SMS format used in previous years was retired this year.
How many students applied for rescrutiny in 2026?
The Education Minister said on 17 August 2026 that more than twelve lakh applications had been submitted. Board figures released mid-window showed over three lakh students applying within the first five days.
How do I know whether my grade changed?
The board sends an SMS to the number you gave during application. You can also search your roll number in the tool on this page, or download your board’s PDF and search for your roll. If your roll number is not listed, no change was recorded.
What if I changed my mobile number after applying?
The notification goes only to the number entered during the application, so you will not receive it. Use the roll number search on this page or your board’s PDF instead, and check your marksheet on eboardresults.com.
What percentage of board challenges actually succeed?
Boards do not publish a national success rate, but historically only a small fraction of applications result in a grade change — because the review covers marking and data-entry accuracy rather than the quality of the answers.
If my fail changed to pass, can I still get into a college?
Yes. Boards coordinate with the XI class admission authority for students in this situation, but you must contact your board and your intended college immediately — the accommodation window is short.
Where can I download the board challenge result PDF?
Every board’s PDF is mirrored in the table on this page as soon as it is released, so you can download it without waiting on board servers.
Does a corrected result change my certificate?
Yes. Once the revision is recorded, the corrected grade appears on your official marksheet and on the certificate issued by your board. If you have already collected a document showing the old grade, your school will guide you through the replacement request.
